Behold! The Green Dragon!

A little while ago, I posted some pictured of my Red Dragon from Reaper (a big metal dragon) and I had to write a post about my green drake aswell!

This one is smaller and a lot more handy than the red one. It’s the Reaper Bones Temple Dragon! Even though the quality of Bones casts have improved greatly the last few years, they still have the habit of “crawling back from whence they came” even if using hot water! So this one had its tail underneath the base after assembling it. So I built a base using the Black Milliput, and I am seriously in love with this product! I usually use the yellow/grey version, but by God, the black stuff is good! Very smooth and so easy to work with!

However.. I suck at making bases, no matter the material, so I had my husband do the base vegetation and add a lot of plant growth on it, to make it shine! And I think it works! It is a forest dragon after all!

She (of course it’s a she!) is mounted on a 50mm round lipped base, so she is rather small compared to my Red Dragon (silver dragon from reaper), but really cool and fun to paint! I added tons of small dots to her wings and tail! Only negative thing about the sculpt is the tongue! Is it too large for her mouth or is she shaking her head and the mini is sculpted mid-twirl? Either way, she looks fearful and ready to eat any adventurer’s entering her part of the forest!

Beware the Red Dragon!

Around 6 years ago I saved up and bought a Reaper Silver Dragon (in metal, this was before Bones) and it had been assembled and ready to be based for, well almost 6 years. So a little while ago, I decided I had to finish it! This is the first (and last) metal dragon I will ever paint! I normally prefer metal, but this lady was a beast of a burden! She is so heavy and hard to handle, that I ended up rushing through some of the painting just to save my wrist! But she stands vigilant in my display cabinet for now, and who knows, some day our heroes might stumble upon her in the mountains!

I wish I had spent a little more time on the base, or atleast the parts around the slate mound I built. But I might fix that one day!

The pink short flowers and the long teal blue flowers are from my garden. It adds a little extra, I think :)

She’s big, (stands on a 100mm base) but far from the biggest dragon I own! I still need to assemble and paint my D&D Collector’s Adult Dragon, which is ridiculously big (150mm base)

New House and lots of Projects!

Phew, we can now call ourselves House Owners!

Moving into a house wasn’t as fast and easy as we thought! We had to move both our business and our apartment into an old house with lots of plumbing and electricity problems, that made it even harder for us to get our shop up and running again! And on top of all, both my husband and I were hit by a stomach flu for an entire week! So we had to have my parents come up and help ship orders…

And despite a failing heat source (it’s freezing), we are holding up and only missing tables for our work and paint stations! So in a few days I will be able to paint again! And Spring is just around the corner, so hopefully my paints will thaw! :-P

Creepy Basilisk!

I still have a few pictures left from before we moved out, so here is my version of the ForgeWorld Basilisk! I’ve changed my mind so many times with colours on this one, but I decided to go straight for the Monstrous Arcanum description/artwork.

I’m not deeply satisfied with the result, but he looks really cute none the less. Here is the Artwork I based him on:

The Monstrous Dire Wolf of the Dark Emissary

I couldn’t wait getting this one up on the blog! This is the Monstrous Direwolf from our Nordland campaign! I already used Dire Wolf as description on another wolf, but this is so much bigger, so “monstrous” had to do :)

The miniature is from Micro Arts Studio, but it looks like it’s no longer in production. Basicks picked up producing them, but seems like they closed down or something. Shame since the wolf is so cool. He will probably end up being a lone gigantic wolf. And he just died in our Nordland Campaign. Does that mean monstrous wolves are extinct?

He is mounted on a 50mm lipped round base from Scibor modified with extra slate for length extension (fancy expression for a fancy wolf) Here he is next to the other Direwolf and side by side with Direwolf and Lesser Wolves:

As you can see he is huge compared to the others. I can see now that it looks like a wolf family with mom, dad and “cubs”, so here is a picture of the whole “family” :-P

More about the Dark Emissary Here. The Wolf Pack, the Warg used as the “normal” Dire Wolf and the Windfall bases used, can be found in my shop at KingGames.dk. Every time I find a cool product or I paint and recommend a mini, I order it for the shop aswell. Sadly the biggest wolf is out of production :-/

Wolf Pack – Minions of the Dark Emissary

I already did a post about the Dire Wolf of the Dark Emissary and this here is the minor wolves we have used as minions and henchmen in our RPG sessions. The wolves are all made by Reaper Miniatures and a joy to paint.

The 3 wolves in the background is the Wolf Pack from Reaper  and the front champion wolf is actually the Leryn the pet of Adowyn from Pathfinder. I only needed the Adowyn as miniature for our Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. The bases are the Windfall 32mm bases from Kromlech.

Fenbeast! Proud and Terrifying Companion of The Dark Emissary!

About a month ago, I wrote a post about the Dark Emissary who is the villain of our Nordland campaign. In our campaign he is assisted by wolves and last week we defeated his monstrous and enormous Dire Wolf. Sure wasn’t easy and we ended up pretty beaten, but alive! Poor Viktor (our Bright Wizard) had received strange tokens every time he did something savage, which he happens to do a lot! And during the Dire Wolf fight, each token left him with Disease points, Stress and lots of Wounds. Let’s just say he went home pretty messed up! He will need some time to recover that’s for sure!

Since the original Dark Emissary from the Albion campaigns (old Games Workshop book) is assisted by a fenbeast, we thought it was fitting for him to have one. The GW one is quite small and not as frightful as we wanted him to be, so we bought the Mórannach, Beast of Cill Chonn Bog from Mierce Miniatures (they have a thing with weird names).

We can only hope that we won’t encounter this beast, but somehow I think our GM has already planned another sinister plan masterminded by the emissary!

The Dire Wolf of the Dark Emissary

As I wrote in a previous post, the Dark Emissary has returned and this time with an army of wolves at his disposal. This here is the Dire Wolf from Reaper (metal version) and is the second largest wolf in his army (like it wasn’t big enough already!)

This is a very cool miniature and our encounters with the wolves have been very exciting (really fast monsters) I have another 3 smaller wolves painted with several more in progress and a very large wolf, which needs its own post!

The base is an interesting choice from Kromlech and is part of their Windfall line. You can find them here.
