Commission Work – May

Last month I did a commission for a Danish customer! I was lucky enough to work on a rare miniature from the now former company Illyad Games, who shut down a few years ago. I had fun painting these minis especially the Swamp creature from Brother Vinni’s (yes, they make other minis than torture victims! And they have the entire business’ slowest shipping and communication) which is painted to resemble a Water Hag from Witcher 3. I used a variety of Skin colours mixed with blues and purples.

The werewolf was painted using Scale75 paints mixed with homemade glazes and washes. A very large and scary miniature! He is mounted on a 50mm base from Scibor Miniatures.

Here are some of the minis I painted:

Another Finished Commission

I just completed another commission for a Spanish friend of mine and an excellent miniature converter, who wanted 32 miniatures painted (quite a handful, but great challenge!) The commission consisted mainly of skeletons for his RPG campaign, but also a few other interesting miniatures, including some from Dark Art Studios’ Kickstarter Campaign.

Here’s some of the many skeletons I painted!

I also painted some heroes, including an undead female warrior,a goblin hero and a female dark elf.

And the miniatures from Dark Art Studios.

Here’s an overall picture of all the miniatures I painted!

Commission

Even though it was a ton of work, I really enjoyed painting these! I got to experiment with skin tones, freehand, painting fire, vivid clothing and colour choices! And I think they ended up looking pretty awesome :-D

Naughty Commission Piece – Joan the Captive

As the headline says, I recently completed a commissioned miniature for an Italian customer! The miniature is from Russian company Brother Vinni, who creates a lot of female miniatures with questionable professions and more than a few minis with a more or less tragic post-war destiny (slaves, ahemm). Their miniatures are beautiful, detailed and well… naked :-P This one is Joan the Captive.

I painted this one as a convicted witch on her way to an unknown destiny (most likely accompanied by a witch hunter) Even though she has been through a rough time, she might still have a trick up her sleeve before she arrives at the stake!

Joan the Captive

I painted her dress as if it was made of vibrant silks and freehanded a few details. The skin is always tricky, but she ended up pretty good and she looks great in real “life” :-) I spent a lot of time on her eyes making them very bright and noticible. I added a few shades of green to her eyes for a more intense look!

Painted with Reaper MSP and Scale75 paints. Base is Stonefloor 25mm from Tabletop-art with a few Gamer’s Grass tufts. (cut up a few tufts to make them smaller to better suit the base)
